‘Tree of Life’ ist die erste Gemeinschaftsproduktion zwischen Loren Nerell, Experte fuer balinesisches Gamelan sowie Klang-Techniker an der UCLA, Los Angeles, und Mark Seelig, Bansuri- und Chant Afficionado sowie Bewußtseinsforscher.
Inspiriert durch das Zusammentreffen beider Musiker beim ’Sound Quest Fest’ in Tucson, Arizona 2010, nehmen die Tracks auf der CD den Zuhörer mit auf eine Reise von Dschungel-Gesängen, schamanischen Gebeten im Hintergrund, über indische Ragas mit Claypot (Ibo-Drum) Grooves und balinesische Gamelan-Mysterien bis in die Trance fernöstlicher Meditation, ozeanischer Auflösung und den ekstatischen ‘Gesang des Schwans’ – der indischen Raga ‘Hansadhwani’.
Der unwiderstehliche Zauber dieser Klangreise wird bereichert durch die musikalische Unterstützung von Steve Roach (sound samples), Max Link (relaxed trance grooves auf Wasser Claypot), und Pankaj Mishra auf Sarangi.

‘Tree of Life’ is the first collaboration between Gamelan expert UCLA sound engineer Loren Nerell and Mark Seelig, Bansuri and chant afficionado.
The two musicians met at the Tucson, AZ, 2010 Sound Quest Fest and decided to put their ideas and visions together to craft a musical journey that covers ancient shamanic wisdom, Eastern meditative traditions, and devotional contemplative depth.
Joined by percussionist Max Link, Germany, and Sarangi maestro Pankaj Mishra, India, ‘Tree of Life’ is a mystifying and entrancing adventure of sound.
